The Ritual
How a record is bornIt starts as a feeling that won’t leave. The artist gets out of the way.
Mastered for vinyl. Nothing added that doesn’t need to be there.
A small run. Every copy accounted for. No overstock, no bargain bin.
Packed by hand in Puerto Vallarta and sent out into the world.
Frequency
Notes on the signalAir, pushed in patterns. A pulse the body agrees with before the mind is consulted.
The four count is older than language. Every tribe found it. Every tribe used it.
Repetition writes. The loop you hear a thousand times becomes the loop you live.
A song is filed next to the state you were in when it played. Play it again and the state returns. This is how a program installs… through the ear, below the line of decision.
We ran it. Nights that ended at noon. Money turned to smoke. The music kept time for all of it.
No blame. That road led here. But a program you cannot see is still running.
Same trance. Opposite direction.
Listen awake. Let the loop quiet the noise until you can watch the pattern play itself out. A pattern seen clearly loses its grip. That is the whole method.

Born in Austin, Texas. His father toured as a trumpet player with the Navy jazz band, so Jake picked up trumpet, then guitar, bass, keys and drums, and followed the sound from rock and jazz into techno and house. The 90s were San Antonio clubs, raves and endless afters. Houston made house the only thing: the MK Ultra show on KTRU, the Scooby Dew Crew parties and Wednesday nights at The Orbit Room.
He started Uni.form in 2002, moved to Cape Town in 2007 on pure intuition, and played Johannesburg’s H2O festival to 10,000+ people going mad. Productions and remixes landed on OM Records, Ministry of Sound, Freerange, Drop Music, Seasons, Icon, Housetown, Tango, Doubledown and Dessous. Today he produces out of Puerto Vallarta and takes select international dates.
